A born performer, Kristen has been musically gifted from a very young age. With a vocal range that effortlessly reaches from warm and haunting alto tones to the clearest clarion soprano, Kristen’s powerful voice leaves a lasting impression. Her passion is writing Inspirational and Holiday Music and sharing her music with the world.
Kristen is also a Royal Conservatory of Music Elementary and Intermediate Voice, Piano and Theory Specialist and teaches music to all ages and levels.

Kristen Scott wrote this song about her husband who committed suicide suddenly and unexpectedly.
The music video, words, and song depicts not only her experience, but the experience of many who suffer from depression or a mental health illness.

A year later, Ira took his own life at the age of 32, leaving behind Scott, a five-year-old son and a three-year-old daughter.
The words “I feel nothing” stayed with Scott for two years as she and her young family struggled to come to terms with Ira’s suicide. In 2020, after years of guilt and anger, Scott penned the haunting ballad I Feel Nothing, Nothing At All.

Curriculums are specialized towards every students’ individual age, interests, goals, and experience.
Kristen Scott likes to have a balanced and integrative curriculum by incorporating technical exercises, ear, and sight reading testing, exam preparation, and also teaches a variety of genres to promote well-rounded musical training.

Royal Conservatory Examinations provide a national standard for students, parents, and teachers to track and measure progress and achievements. Preparing for and successfully completing an examination encourages goal-setting, promotes well-rounded musical training, builds self-confidence, and provides tools and skills for performances in the future.
During a practical examination, students will have a one-on-one assessment with a professional, program-certified examiner.

The Harmonic Gems
Harmony Group
Kristen Scott & the Harmonic Gems is a volunteer group created by Kristen Scott’s vocal students. Mostly performing during the Christmas season in community events such as parades, Christmas markets, hockey games, charities, and local vendors spreading holiday cheer.
Please contact Kristen Scott if you’d like the Harmonic Gems to sing at your function or market. They are excited to attend anywhere and sing Christmas songs a capella in 2 to 3 part harmony.

Biography
A multi-award winning music teacher with more than 20 years of experience, Kristen achieves exceptional results with her students. She is a Royal Conservatory Elementary and Intermediate Voice, Piano, and Theory Specialist, through the RCM Teacher Certification Program and received the 2018 Top Music Teacher Award of Calgary, as voted by Steinway Piano, Gallery of Calgary.
Her unique approach mixes traditional vocal and piano pedagogy with insights gleaned from her Bachelor's Degree in Child Studies and Certificate in Children's Mental Health.
Kristen has received many teacher certificates of recognition for student achievements, as Gold Medalists through the Royal Conservatory Examination Program, Calgary Festival of Arts, Stars of Broadway Showcases, finalists for Junior Idol Voice Competitions, Calgary Stampede Talent Search, Calgary Young Canadians, Calgary Youth Singers, Chamber choirs, and Jazz ensembles.
She encourages her students to attend open mics, join school bands, choirs, and ensembles. Many students continue in music as music therapists, singer/songwriters, piano, and voice teachers themselves. She also provides opportunities for aspiring professional musicians to accompany student exams and festivals.
Kristen inspires everyone she meets with her energy, intensity, discipline, and genuine love of music.
Teaching all ages, all genres and styles, Kristen works to inspire each student's creative voice. She is very passionate about what she does and loves being involved in the community.
